Springfield Park (also known as Springfield Dam) in west Belfast opened to the public in December 2020 following a £1.2 million redevelopment. This work was part of the Forth Meadow Community Greenway project.
Getting to Springfield Park
Enter the park at Springfield Road or Clovelly Street. If you are travelling by bus from Belfast city centre, take Metro no.80, 80A, 81 and 81A.
Help us name the bridge
Since October 2022, we’ve been asking residents from the surrounding communities to help us name the pedestrian and cycle bridge within the park.
If you live in the area or use the park, feel free to email your name suggestions to email@example.com by 21 November. Before you submit your name suggestions you should read the bridge naming criteria.
The next step will be for a panel meet to agree a shortlist of potential names. There will then be a public vote to choose a favourite name. This vote is likely to take place before the end of the year.
Keep an eye on our social media platforms and our consultation hub (link opens in new window) for more information.
Within the park is a community building which is available to local community groups, schools, youth projects and people to book. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
To find out what events and activities are on in our parks, go to Park events.
As part of the Forth Meadow Community Greenway Shared Services and Spaces programme, we're developing plans to hold community events in Springfield Dam. Events could include family fun days, craft fairs, cultural, environmental and schools events.
Park opening times
Parks open at 7.30am every day. Closing times change as daylight lengthens or shortens.
