Nature Towns and Cities is a UK-wide programme focused on bringing the benefits of nature and green space to everyone and is made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund (link opens in new window).
The programme aims to help five million more people access green and blue spaces near their homes and enable one million more children to play in nature on their doorstep over the next 10 years.

We will deliver the The Belfast project, Breaking Through Barriers to Connect People and Nature, in partnership with Ulster Wildlife.
Thanks to £850,514 of funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we will work with communities and partners across the city to help create a greener, healthier Belfast.
By building on existing work and data, the project will identify what the barriers are preventing people from connecting to nature and explore ways to bring more nature into everyday spaces across Belfast. By bringing these elements together and building partnerships, we will develop a shared blueprint for nature-inspired plans and practices for urban settlements.
