Cemeteries

Burials can take place in three of our cemeteries - Roselawn, Dundonald and Belfast City Cemetery

Roselawn is currently the only cemetery with new burial plots available.

There are no new grave plots available in either Dundonald or Belfast City Cemetery, but burials can still take place in existing graves.

Cremations are conducted at City of Belfast Crematorium We also maintain five historical cemeteries. Find out more about their background by using the links below:

Burial records

You can look up burial records online using our search facility.

The service allows you to search for burial records in Belfast from 1869 onwards. Around 360,000 records are available relating to Belfast City Cemetery, Roselawn Cemetery and Dundonald Cemetery.

Visit our cemeteries and discover their fascinating heritage, as well as the wealth of wildlife that resides amongst our headstones, memorials, hedgerows and mature trees.

Changes to dog control

We are proposing new dog control orders. One proposal is to exclude dogs from cemeteries, children’s playgrounds, playing fields and pitches. We want to hear your views on these proposals.

It is open from 8.30am to 5pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8.30am to 4.30pm (Friday).
