Super Connected Communities

  • Super Connected Communities

People of all ages can learn basic IT skills, animation, coding and design with exciting projects in our community centres. Get in touch with your nearest centre for more information.

  • Outreach IT hub

We travel across the city with our outreach hub to Wi-Fi enabled venues so we can deliver a course or taster session when requested.

Find contact details for our Wi-Fi enabled community centres.

  • Digital Film Archive

You can now explore hundreds of old film footage of Northern Ireland dating back to 1897 with Northern Ireland Screen's Digital Film Archive by booking it as part of our outreach IT hub through your local community centre.

Please email us or call 028 9027 0644 for more information.

  • Reuse IT

We ran a trial project from 6 to 30 December 2021 accepting old digital devices - smartphones, tablets and laptops – at Ormeau Recycling Centre.

The devices were professionally wiped and refurbished by Ignite IT before being distributed to local households in need.

We will now review the findings from the trial to understand whether it is worth continuing and possibly extending to other parts of the city. Keep an eye on this page for updates.

This is an example of a circular economy project. The circular economy model creates a more sustainable pattern of consumption, production and waste. This has obvious environmental benefits and also delivers social and economic benefits at the same time.

Email digitalcitizen@belfastcity.gov.uk for more information about the project.
