Residents living inside the pedestrian zone

If you’re living inside the pedestrian zone, we will send you a letter about road closures during the Fleadh.

View our map to see if you live inside this zone. 

This letter will give alternative arrangements for your car parking. You will also need an access pass to move in and out of the pedestrian zone. 

You can arrange these through The Traffic Management Company, who we've appointed to manage essential access for the zone.

Bin collections

There will also be changes to bin collections if you live within the pedestrian zone.

Bins due to be collected on Tuesday 3 August will be collected on Friday 31 July instead, between 7am and 3pm. We will also have an extra collection on Tuesday 11 August to allow for these changes.

Our normal service will then resume from the week beginning Monday 17 August.

Leave your bins at their usual collection point during these times.

Residents living near Ormeau Park, Falls Park and Titanic Quarter campsites

There are three official Fleadh campsites as part of the event:

• Ormeau Park and Falls Park for tents only, and
• Titanic Quarter for camper vans and caravans.

A dedicated community liaison officer and hotline will be in place for residents living near to Ormeau Park who have any concerns about noise, litter, parking or other issues.

We will give more details of this number and operating hours nearer to the event.

Campers will also get information about each local neighbourhood, to encourage them to explore what’s available, take part in local fringe events and be considerate of residents during their stay. 

All other residents

We will be collecting bins as normal outside of the city centre.

Communities will also be key to the Fleadh experience, with events in local neighbourhoods and projects funded through our Bank of Ideas scheme.

Businesses

If you’re a local business getting ready for the Fleadh, check out our information for businesses.

Volunteers

Over 1,500 people have signed up to be volunteers at the Fleadh, including many residents.

They will be vital to delivering the event by

• welcoming visitors
• supporting competitions
• encouraging people to dispose of litter properly and helping people to get around Belfast.

Registration for volunteers has now closed, with sign up for the 2027 event due to open later in 2026.

Council services and facilities

Most of our council services and facilities will be open as normal throughout the event. 

Many venues including City Hall, 2 Royal Avenue, Ulster Hall and ICC Belfast will be hosting Fleadh events.
