Weavers Cross

Weavers Cross is a transport led regeneration project which will link a new high-capacity integrated transport hub with mixed-use development opportunities close to Belfast city centre.

About

The new hub - Belfast Grand Central Station - is a multimillion-pound flagship investment project which holds significant national importance and will be a key driver of greener economic growth for Belfast and beyond.

Work is well advanced on the station and is expected to open for passengers in Autumn 2024 and fully operational by Q4 in 2025. The station will have an expected annual footfall of circa 20 million passenger journeys and enhance local and international connectivity with links to Dublin, and all main airports.

Outline Planning Permission is secured for the surrounding Weavers Cross regeneration masterplan which is being led by the appointed master-development partner, MRP. The masterplan involves the potential for 1.3 million square feet of mixed-use office, residential, life sciences, hotels and retail leisure space, presenting a unique opportunity to transform and regenerate a current brownfield site and create a new destination in the heart of the city.

The site comprises an excellent opportunity for a world-class innovation district with large floorplates of up to 30,000 feet2 to cater for Life Science, Technology and Financial Services markets, perfectly positioned near to the city's hospitals and universities.

The project will support the regeneration of nearby communities, create a new gateway to Belfast and stimulate further economic opportunities.
