Enjoy live music in the city’s parks over the coming months

Enjoy live music in various parks in the city from May to September, as part of the council’s ‘Music in the Parks’ programme.

Featuring a range of music from modern country, folk, jazz, trad, brass band and African drumming sessions, the programme will run on Friday and Sunday afternoons.

Music in the Parks will finish with a Grand Finale concert at City Hall on Saturday 30 September.

Coming up this Friday (12 May) will be a performance from the String Ninjas at Botanic Gardens from 1pm to 3pm.

Chris Dawson will be performing at CS Lewis Square on Friday 19 May (1pm-3pm) and Winnie Ama and the Band will be at Ormeau Park on Sunday 28 May (1pm-3pm).

June’s programme will see bands from the Northern Ireland Bands’ Association perform at Ormeau Park on Sunday 4 June (2pm-5pm).

The Duffy Family Band will be at Falls Park on Sunday 11 June (1pm-3pm). Donna Nakumsa, African Drumming Circle will be performing in Alexandra Park on Friday 16 June (1pm-3pm).

Jackie Rainey will be at CS Lewis Square on Friday 23 June (1pm-3pm) and Wookalily will be in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park on Friday 30 June (1pm-3pm).

Other parks that will be hosting live music in July, August and September are Victoria Park, Drumglass Park, Springfield Dam Park, Páirc Nua Chollann, Woodvale and Waterworks parks.

Saturday 30 September will see the Grand Finale concert at City Hall from 1pm to 5pm featuring a range of performers.

Also coming up in the city parks is a Fun Day event at Botanic Gardens this Saturday (13 May) from 1pm to 4pm.

This free event will feature Bollywood dancing, games, arts and crafts and more and is in support of one of the Lord Mayor’s charities this year – Belfast Asian Women’s Academy.
