During the Fleadh, many city centre roads and streets will be closed to vehicle traffic. This will create a pedestrian zone from Sunday 2 to Sunday 9 August where street performances and activities will take place.
To check if your business premises are inside the pedestrian zone, view our map.
Our Accreditation and Logistics Hub will manage arrangements for business deliveries and collections inside the pedestrian zone. We've appointed The Traffic Management Company to run the hub on our behalf.
This hub will operate 24-hours every day during the Fleadh. The hub will be responsible for managing all vehicle access to the zone.
This includes vehicle access for:
Most deliveries and collections will take place between 4am and 8am. Our street cleaning services will also take place during these hours. All vehicle deliveries and collections must be completed by 9am each day.
The hub will have refrigeration and temporary storage facilities available for businesses.
You can find the Accreditation and Logistics Hub at 21 Duncrue St, Belfast, BT3 9AQ.
If your business premises are inside the pedestrian zone and you want deliveries or collections, you must apply for a delivery access pass.
This includes:
A delivery or collection vehicle will need a delivery access pass to enter the pedestrian zone between 4am and 8am. All vehicle deliveries and collections must be completed by 9am each day.
When you apply for a delivery access pass, the hub will confirm a delivery timeslot and allocate a route.
To apply, go to request a Fleadh delivery pass (link opens in new window).
To ask the Accreditation and Logistics Hub to arrange a vehicle delivery access pass on the day of delivery, or for any queries on vehicle access, email [email protected].
We are running road closure information sessions on Monday 6 July and Tuesday 7 July. These online sessions are for different types of city centre businesses and services.
There are specific sessions for:
To find a session relevant to your business, go to Fleadh road closure information sessions.
There will be changes to our commercial waste services from Sunday 2 August to Sunday 9 August in the pedestrian zone.
We will empty bins the day after your usual collection day, between 2am and 6am. For example, if your collection is normally on Monday, we’ll empty your bins on Tuesday between 2am and 6am.
We sent a letter to our commercial customers explaining these changes. If you have a query, call our Commercial Waste service on 028 9027 0735 or email [email protected].
If a private company collects your commercial waste, contact them to check what changes are planned between 2 and 9 August. They will need to arrange a vehicle access pass to enter the pedestrian zone from our Accreditation and Logistics Hub.

Your business could also be affected by:
If you aren’t sure where the pedestrian zone is located, view our map.
Businesses outside the pedestrian zone should not need any changes to your usual access, delivery or waste collection arrangements.
Your suppliers may need to allow extra time for journeys, given the anticipated crowd levels in and around Belfast and traffic advice to avoid travelling through Belfast city centre by car due to road closures in place.
All our own council commercial waste collections will continue to operate as normal during the Fleadh (outside the pedestrian zone).
While most Fleadh activities will happen in Belfast city centre, events and activities are also planned in local neighbourhoods as part of our fringe programme.
Check the Fleadh Cheoil website (link opens in new window) for full details of what’s on and where throughout the event.
