Sandy Row Revitalisation Grant Scheme

  • Sandy Row Revitalisation Grant Scheme

Our Sandy Row Revitalisation Grant Scheme aims to support existing independent retail businesses in the Sandy Row boundary area (see the map showing the Sandy Row Area Boundary Map). This is to provide physical improvements to their businesses, leading to an enhanced local shopping destination and a potential increase in pedestrian traffic and footfall in the area, in advance of the planned Department for Communities Grosvenor Road and Sandy Row Public Realm Improvement Scheme.

  • How much is available?

We have secured £250k funding from the Department for Communities for the Sandy Row Revitalisation Scheme: £225k for business grants, and £25k to deliver an area-based marketing and branding campaign.

  • When can I apply?

Applications opened on 18 March 2025 and will close on 30 June 2025, or when all funds are allocated.
The scheme will provide funding for 100% of costs for eligible items of expenditure, with grants from £500 to £5,000 available to cover external and internal works, including equipment to support applicants to grow their business.

  • Information and business support for the grant scheme

Belfast City Council will be engaging with businesses in the Sandy Row area to provide business support and guidance through our Enterprise and Business Growth team and other relevant teams across the council - including access to Go Succeed; the core programme for business start-up and growth operated by all local councils.

Grants will be issued to successful applicants (if they meet the eligibility criteria) in the order in which applications are received and approved by Belfast City Council, until available funds have been fully allocated.

To find out more about the scheme, or if you need help with the application form, email [email protected] or call Emma on 07393 142937 or Celeste on 07443 259029.

We can support you by email, phone or video call, or, where appropriate, in a face-to-face meeting.

We welcome applications from people of all abilities. If we can help you to apply by making any reasonable adjustments to our process, please let us know.
