Belfast City Council is calling on the city’s next generation of entrepreneurs to apply for its exciting new accelerator programme which opens today (Thursday 11 September).
‘Belfast’s Young Entrepreneurs to Watch’ is a dynamic three-month initiative designed to discover, develop and fast-track entrepreneurial talent among 16 to 24-year-olds.
The programme combines hands-on workshops with exclusive mentoring from high-profile business leaders, providing a powerful platform for young innovators ready to make their mark.
Speaking at the programme’s launch, Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, said: “This is such an incredible initiative – inspiring young people in our city to take their first step on an entrepreneurial journey.
“I believe that entrepreneurship should be available to everyone – no matter what your background is and, by providing young people with the correct tools, mentoring services and experience, we are building momentum for an array of future leaders.
“While starting a business can feel daunting, our Enterprise and Business Growth team, and the wider Belfast business community, are here to support you every step of the way.”
Alongside inspirational talks, sponsors Danske Bank, Pacem Advisory and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer will deliver practical, real-world advice on launching and growing a business.
The programme will end with a city centre showcase event, where participants will pitch their ventures for the chance to win a £2,000 funding boost to help bring their ideas to life.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 10 October and workshops will take place during November and December.
