The Ulster Orchestra, Townsend Enterprise Park and Zeppo Arts are coming together for a brand new project Sound Links.
This unique collaboration will explore the history of Townsend Street and focus on its future, by connecting with residents past and present, community groups, schools and care homes in the local area.
Sound Links will come to an exciting finale on International Day of Peace, September 21st. Townsend Street will be transformed for a one-day take over festival of dance, song and fun for all ages. This day of celebration will showcase the communities' new connections and premiere of 2 new works, from composers Rory Friers and Una Monaghan.
The team are collecting stories, written and recorded, of the past and present of the street, its buildings, people and surrounding area, and aspirations for the future.
These stories will form part of a community-led celebration of the street and its people on International Peace Day, 21 September 2024.
