Your bin or box must be in good working order for us to empty it. If your bin or box is in poor condition, please order a new one.
You can also order bins, or boxes or lids if you are missing any. You can order online (household bins and boxes only) or call us on 028 9027 0230 if you are not sure what you need. If you share bins with other residents, report issues to your management company, agent or housing officer who will arrange replacements on your behalf.
Recycling bins and boxes are free, but there is a charge for general waste bins (£25.50) and home composters (£10).
Before you order from us, be aware:
Each household can only have one general waste bin. If you already have a general waste bin you can use, you can't order another one online. Crews will only collect one black bin per property unless you’ve been approved for additional capacity.
We recognise larger families or those with medical conditions resulting in extra waste which can’t be recycled may need additional waste – read more about this on our Help and FAQs page.

Include your name, delivery address (including postcode), contact telephone number, the type of bin you need and a cheque or postal order for the appropriate amount, made payable to Belfast City Council.
If you already have a black bin and want to order another one by phone or post, you will also need to request an additional bin assessment.
Bins and boxes are usually delivered within ten working days and will be left at the front of your property or, where possible, in your front garden. If you have specific delivery requirements, please state these when you place your order.
We cannot deliver on specified days, due to the volume of containers we deliver every week.
