Marriages and civil partnerships - 28 days notice
From Saturday 28 February 2015 you must give a minimum of 28 days notice to get married or have a civil partnership.
If you don't give 28 days notice, you may need to postpone your marriage or civil partnership. You can give notice up to a year before the date of your marriage or civil partnership.
There will be severe disruptions to our registration service from Wednesday 1 to Tuesday 7 April.
We can only register a death if you've made a booking for a cremation or burial during this period. For all other death registrations, please call us to make an appointment to register from Wednesday 8 April onwards. We will be closed on Easter Monday 6 April, but we're open on Easter Tuesday from 9.30am to 12 noon for the registration of deaths only. We advise that you make an appointment, but it's not essential.
We are unable to register any births from Wednesday 1 to Tuesday 7 April 2015. We are closed on Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday. We will be open as normal on Wednesday 8 April. You have 42 days to register the birth.
