JobStart 50+ Scheme

  • JobStart employment opportunities

    The JobStart 50+ Scheme provides funding to help employers create high quality jobs for eligible people aged between 50 and 64. Employers can apply online to take part in the scheme. The scheme is funded by the Department for Communities (DfC).

  • How the scheme helps employers

    Funding for each JobStart opportunity will pay:

    • the relevant National Living Wage for 25 hours per week
    • the associated employer National Insurance contributions
    • an employer's minimum automatic enrolment pension contributions.
  • Transferring unfilled job opportunities

    If an employer participated in JobStart for young people and still has unfilled vacancies, these roles are transferable to JobStart50+. But the employer must register for JobStart 50+.

  • Closing date to apply as an employer

    Employers must apply by Sunday 21 July 2024.

  • How the scheme supports people aged 50 and over

    JobStart supports people at risk of long-term unemployment by helping them enter or re-enter employment.To check if you're eligible for JobStart, go to JobStart Scheme (link opens in new window).

    If you're eligible for a JobStart role, you must apply by 13 September 2024.
