Sensory Day

Date: 7 September 2025

Sensory Day

Our annual Sensory Day returns this September, creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for visitors of all ages and abilities.

The event links with our September Quiet Hour and Autism-friendly Afternoon, offering a calming atmosphere across the zoo. From storytelling to lively silent discos, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on this special day.

You can enjoy a wide range of sensory-friendly activities, including:

  • quiet hour and autism-friendly conditions all day (9am to 6pm)
  • a dedicated quiet room (9am to 5pm)
  • meeting the zoo mascot (appearances throughout the day)
  • a sensory trail (9am to 6pm)
  • a sensory wildlife station (10am to 2pm)
  • meeting our education animals (11am to 12 noon and 2pm to 3pm)
  • a sensory activity station (9am to 5pm)
  • sensory storytelling (1pm to 5pm), and
  • a silent disco (12 noon to 3pm).

Sensory Day is included in the cost of your zoo ticket.
