Have you ‘herd’ the news? Belfast Zoo has it’s very own Elmer elephant sculpture as part of Northern Ireland Hospice’s “Big Belfast Trail”!
Designed by local artist Dawn Crothers, “A Day Trip to the Zoo” has been created to stimulate your imagination with fond memories of visiting the zoo.
Dawn Crothers frequently visited Belfast Zoo growing up, due to her living very close by. Her fascination with animals and nature began there. Dawn has also captured the spirit of the history of our Cave Hill surroundings by including the Floral Hall and the Bellevue Steps.
Dawn’s masterpiece is just one of 70 elephant-astic sculptures dotted across Belfast city centre.
Launched on Monday 20 June, the trail will be in place for ten weeks as part of a collaboration between the Northern Ireland Hospice, Wild in Art and Andersen Press.
