Feel Festive at Belfast Zoo

Feel Festive at Belfast Zoo

Over two weekends in December, visitors will notice a touch of magic in the air at Belfast Zoo as we get into the festive spirit for the season.

Kids go free for the month of December too so there couldn’t be a better time to grab your woolly hats and plan your next trip to Belfast Zoo!*

On Saturday 11, Sunday 12, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December, visitors can come enjoy our festive feeding times as Santa will be treating the animals to Christmas gifts such as wrapped boxes, crackers and stockings.

Pose for a special festive family photo** with Santa at our photography base camp and take home a photograph to treasure forever (selected dates throughout December, please check availability).  A photo will cost £12.

Children can then explore our beautiful 55-acre site by taking part in our Christmas Trail and be in with the chance of winning a ‘zooper’ goodie bag.

Make sure to swing by the gorilla house and see if you can spot a very special addition to our family, a baby Western lowland gorilla born only a few weeks ago!

Our Treetop café will also have plenty of winter warmers on offer and a free festive treat for every purchase.

We are open 10am – 4pm with last admission at 2.30pm. All tickets must be purchased online in advance.

Normal admission rates apply.  Read about our health and safety measures and purchase tickets on our website.

* One free child admission per full paying adult admission

**Photo is with Santa in a festive scene. Cost is £12 for one photo (additional photos and mementos will be available to purchase on the day). This is not a Grotto experience and gifts are not included.
