Construction Employment Academy

The Construction Employment Academy is a new training programme designed in partnership with contractors operating in Belfast to help them recruit new staff.

The academy will cover training for a range of vacancies as well as self-employment opportunities within the construction industry.

What’s involved?

Participants will take part in a two-week training programme to give them the skills and licences needed to begin a career in construction such as:

  • CSR card
  • working at heights
  • abrasive wheels
  • health and safety
  • first aid
  • Banksman.

The programme will also provide sector specific employability support including:

  • site visits and insights into the jobs available
  • completing application forms
  • interview preparation and mock interviews.

Every participant that completes this employment academy will be guaranteed a job interview for a role that best suits their circumstances.

The Construction Employment Academy is open to anyone living in the Belfast City Council area currently out of work or working less than 16 hours a week. This includes people who are participating on a European Social Funded programme.

How to apply

This Employment Academy is not recruiting at present, but we plan to run others later in the year. If you would like to be informed when we’re recruiting for the next academy, please fill in our registration form. Alternatively, you may be interested in applying for another Employment Academy.
