Belfast music

From punk to proms, trad to rock legends and fantastic emerging new talent, Belfast’s music scene (past and present) is one that everyone can be proud of.

There’s already a host of music-related activity in the pipeline for Belfast throughout 2018-2019. We’re becoming the preferred prime location for one-off events and there’s an annual programme of music activities citywide.

Over the next few years, we’ll be working in partnership to galvanise the full potential of local music. We want to use it to strengthen the cultural ecosystem for the benefit of everyone.

This year, we will be working in partnership to brighten up our new developments with music-themed hoarding telling Belfast's music story on our streets.

Summer Season 2018

We are delighted to present Summer Season 2018, an exciting and unique programme of music-based events popping up across the city from July through to September 2018. From traditional music, to DJ workshops and Street Opera, there is something for all music tastes and ages.

We’re really proud of the music scene in Belfast. Join us this summer and get a taste of what this city has to offer.

We are delivering this project in partnership with Belfast One and Destination CQ BID.

The Amplifier Pilot Project

In our Belfast Agenda consultation, people told us that by 2035 they want to be living in a city that is vibrant and attractive and where everyone fulfils their potential. Our commitment to building on the potential that music has for citizens and the sector is one step towards realising this ambition.

We have launched a pilot programme, The Amplifier Project, to enhance the city’s existing musical offerings.

Through the Amplifier Project, we have invited expressions of interest from experienced music producers. We’re offering funding to deliver exciting initiatives which will enhance their existing programmes and demonstrate the potential for them to become significant music events for the city.
